Early Learning Center

June 24, 2020

Dear Parents,

Thank you so much for your interest in enrolling your child in the Early Learning Center here at Mount Hermon Baptist Church. We are so honored and thankful that you would allow us to be a part of your child’s growth and education. As you know, the last couple of months have brought a number of different struggles and many unknowns. It was such a difficult decision to close after Spring Break and not being able to have the graduation and end of the year festivities. I know that this was difficult for Brenda, our teachers, and our students. As we look to the fall, we have been closely monitoring the Governor’s updates and how they will affect our Early Learning Center. At this time, our intent is to open on our original date in August. This has been the source of much discussion and planning for a number of restrictions that may be handed down from our Governor. Please know that we take the safety of our students, teachers and their families very seriously.  We have been working with an infectious disease specialist that will be helping us know the very best way to clean, social distance, and any other restrictions that must be addressed before we open this fall. At this time, Brenda is not in the office until we get word that schools will be allowed to open this fall. Until we receive word that we can open, our staff at Mount Hermon Baptist Church is more than happy to serve you in any way possible. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Corey Young our Administrative Pastor at (434) 724-7118 ext. #3.

In His Grip,

Pastor Steve Chromy

Our Mission

And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature[a] and in favor with God and man. Luke 2:52

Every parent desires for his or her child to develop mentally, physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually throughout life. Mount Hermon Baptist’s Early Learning Center (ELC) will lay a foundation for children to understand God, Jesus, the Bible, themselves, relationships with others, and the world around them.

The purpose of the Mount Hermon Early Learning Center is to support and minister to families by providing biblically-based, developmentally-appropriate education for preschoolers. We commit to provide a nurturing environment, encouragement for families, and a positive witness for Jesus Christ and his church. Preschoolers will enjoy a wide variety of activities that are age appropriate and developmental levels. Each class will be instructed by a caring, Christian teacher and a teacher’s assistant.
