How to Join
A personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the essential prerequisite to authentic church membership. Having trusted in Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, you may become a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church in one of the following ways:
- By public profession of faith in Jesus Christ to be followed by believer’s baptism by immersion.
Baptism does not “save” a person. It is an act of obedience to Christ and an outward testimony of an inward spiritual reality. Immersion best symbolizes the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, as well as the believer’s dying to self and rising to walk in newness of life.
- By transfer of existing church membership from another Baptist church.
We will contact your former church on your behalf to notify them of your intent. They will respond with a letter. Your name will be removed from their membership roll as it is added to ours.
- By statement of faith and prior believer’s baptism by immersion in a church of like faith and order.
If you are coming from a church other than (but still similar to) a Baptist church, or if your former church no longer exists or no longer has records of your membership, you can join our church on the basis of your testimony regarding your conversion and baptism.
If you are interested in joining Mount Hermon, or if you have further questions about church membership at Mount Hermon, please feel free to contact our pastor or any member of our ministerial staff and they will be glad to speak with you personally.
